The Archives Unleashed hackathon will take place at the University of Toronto’s Robarts Library, located in downtown Toronto on the University of Toronto’s St. George Campus. The closest subway station is St. George Station on the Bloor-Danforth line.
The largest nearby international airport is Toronto Pearson (YYZ), well served by most American, international, and Canadian carriers. To get to the University of Toronto from Toronto Pearson, you can take the Toronto Transit Commission’s 192 bus to Kipling Station on the Bloor-Danforth line, which is then a direct trip to the University of Toronto. Alternatively, there is the more convenient but comfortable UP Express which runs directly from Pearson airport to downtown Toronto.
There is a smaller regional airport, Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ). Porter Airlines flies there from many American cities along the eastern seaboard, and it’s an extremely convenient airport located right downtown.
We have booked a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Toronto Bloor-Yorkville, a short five minute walk from the hackathon sites. Rates are $129.99/night for one queen bed (single/double occupancy), and $134.99/night for a two Double bed room. Accepted participants will receive more information with our group booking code.
