They&#8217;ve participated on one or more of the following teams:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 investigators (all members of the Waterloo Centre for German Studies)<\/li>\n<li>12 members in the advisory group, including representatives from the University of Waterloo and the community of Waterloo Region<\/li>\n<li>13 research assistants (all graduate students from the Department of Germanic &amp; Slavic Studies)<\/li>\n<li>23 interviewers<\/li>\n<li>22 transcribers<\/li>\n<li>22 authors<\/li>\n<li>contributors for this companion website, which is currently under construction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The interviews were scheduled, conducted, transcribed, and then prepared for archiving. On average, each interview required over\u00a015\u00a0hours of behind-the-scenes work. The entire process needed careful coordination, and everyone working on the project had to adhere to ethics guidelines as set out by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pre.ethics.gc.ca\/eng\/policy-politique\/initiatives\/tcps2-eptc2\/introduction\/\">Tri-Council Policy Statement<\/a>. (For full information about various stages of the project, especially the recruitment process, please visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/wcgs.ca\">Waterloo Centre for German Studies&#8217;s<\/a> website.)<\/p>\n<p>Members of the local German community donated $20,000 to the project. The Centre has contributed the rest. In total, the project has cost over $70,000 as of April 2016.<\/p>\n<p>This chapter details all the work that was carried out since the first meeting of the advisory group in 2012.
